After a good rain in the Texas Hill Country, the mystical rain lily opens slowly at dusk. In full flower by morning, each lily stands tall, looking as if it is singing its heart out in praise of the sun. Then, just as quickly as it appears, the rain lily is gone, never lasting but a day or two. Whenever we discover them blooming in random nooks, crannies or meadows on our farm, we consider it a blessing, like the rain lily is singing for us as well. The only way to describe the mystical aroma of Rain Lily is to imagine waking up to the most beautiful sunny morning after a good rain, where everything smells freshly cleansed and oh so crisp.
